Best of Luck Dear Friend

June 18, 2011

Our friend Qurban is riding in the “Ride to Conquer Cancer” from Cloverdale to Seattle. We went this morning to cheer him and the other riders on. The team he rides with is “Ride for Ryder“. Qurban’s son passed away last year from undifferentiated sarcoma. He rides for him and in hopes researchers will find a cure. I also had the opportunity to meet Jimi who was featured on CTV News. In total all the riders raised 11.1 million for Cancer research. Amazing ! The yellow flags on the bikes were riders who have survived cancer. During the opening ceremonies I heard this from the announcer “our sweat is nothing compared to their tears… We Can and We will”. Wishing everyone a safe journey to Seattle and hope the sun comes out !

Charity Work

August 25, 2009

Hi There Fellow Blogger Friends,

So for the past few weeks, we have been discussing between the techs about how we can give back to some local charities. Papa strongly believes in helping others and giving back to those who are less fortunate to us.  I remember when I first started with Papa. Papa used to always say “always make people smile with random acts of kindness”.   Sept -Dec, is our busiest season.. with all the rain that hits the lower mainland and now with the snow as well, it can get very stressful. We all decided to give back to 3 charities this busy season. I have sent proposals to all the 3 and cant wait for them to approve. The idea is that for each service call from Sept 1-Dec 31/09, proceeds will be given to charity. The techs are super excited as they feel now they have a goal in mind to keep them going through this hectic time. Once I get approval, I cant wait to write about the goals that we have all made for each charity.
